VOLO / Engineering Record
Methodology

How profiles get built.

The Volo Engineering Record (VER) is a catalog of how fintech companies actually build their products — sourced from public engineering blogs, conference talks, product changelogs, and partner case studies. Every claim links back to a public source URL.

Why this exists

Two kinds of writing about fintech infrastructure are abundant: press releases (vague) and vendor marketing (biased). Neither helps a CTO understand what is actually running behind the API. VER fills the gap by assembling claim-level, citation-checked profiles of how teams build.

How we work

Each profile is researched, drafted, reviewed, and edited by our team. We use modern tooling to scale the gruntwork — surfacing candidates, pulling source material, cross-checking citations — but the editorial decisions, the structure of a profile, and the call on what gets published all rest with humans.

  1. Research. We start from the company's own engineering surfaces — blog, careers page, status page, GitHub, public talks — and follow the threads outward to partner case studies, vendor write-ups, and conference appearances.
  2. Drafting. Findings are turned into a structured profile: thesis, observable architecture, stated stack, what is inferable but not confirmed, open questions. Every load-bearing claim carries a citation.
  3. Review. Every citation is re-checked against the source. Anything vague, anything unsourced in a load-bearing section, anything that drifts from the underlying material gets flagged and corrected before it ships.
  4. Editorial. We refine voice, structure, and readability. A profile is meant to be useful at a glance and dense on inspection — not a marketing page in either direction.
  5. Publish gate. Only after a final human pass does a profile go public. Locked-but-private drafts stay internal.

Citations are the contract

Every factual claim links to a public source URL. If a citation breaks, the underlying claim is suspect — let us know and we'll re-verify. Profiles are revisited as new public information lands.

What VER is not

Not investment research. Not a vendor comparison. Not paid placements. The work is funded by Volo Global, who use these profiles as the starting point for engineering conversations with the teams behind them. No company pays to be listed; no listing implies endorsement.
